IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR ALAMOGOLD INCLUSIONS
EXTENDED PROTECTION (EP)
This provides the renter with up to $1 million third party liability cover for accidental death or injury to the authorised renter(s) or passengers, should an uninsured or under-insured driver hit your vehicle.
COLLISION DAMAGE WAIVER (CDW)
Alamo’s CDW protects the renter against costs for damage to the Alamo car (including theft and vandalism), regardless of who is at fault.
LOCAL FEES & TAXES
Other incidental costs such as local taxes on prepaid items, airport access fees, state surcharges and recoupment fees are included.
FUEL
Your AlamoGold rental includes the first tank of petrol – FREE, so, the larger the car, the more fuel you receive giving you more free miles and even better value!
IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR RENTAL
PERSONAL PROTECTION INSURANCE (PPI)
Personal Protection Insurance is an optional extra and provides cover in the event of injury or death to the driver or passengers, plus protection of personal possessions from theft, loss or damage. Your holiday travel insurance may give you adequate cover, however, we recommend that you ascertain your need for this insurance before you collect your vehicle, as once accepted, it is non-refundable.
RENTAL TERMS
Cars are reserved by category, not by specific make, model or engine size. Alamo reserves the right to substitute similar or larger cars at no extra rental charge. Most cars have automatic transmission and air-conditioning.
AIRPORT ARRIVAL
In cities where Alamo does not have a rental counter inside the airport terminal, a courtesy shuttle service, which generally leaves from outside the baggage claim area, will transport you directly to the Alamo depot. We are delighted to advise that with the integration of Alamo and National rental stations, there are now many more ‘on airport’ depots than ever before.
PAYMENT
Alamo operate a voucherless system. When you arrive at the depot you will be asked to leave an imprint of your credit card. Your credit card will be charged at the end of your rental with any extras you agreed to take. i.e. child seat, Personal Protection Insurance, car upgrade etc.
UNDER AGE DRIVERS
All drivers must be aged 21 years or over (18 years in New York & Michigan) and carry a full valid driving licence from their country of residence. Drivers aged 21-24 years incur an additional US$25 / CAD$25 per driver per day. Drivers aged 18-24 years will incur an additional insurance recovery charge for rentals in New York and Michigan.
ADDITIONAL DRIVERS
At the time of ‘pick up’ all passengers intending to drive the car must be present and provide their driver’s licence. Additional fees are payable (if not included in your rental) and only authorised drivers listed on the Alamo rental agreement are permitted to drive the vehicle.
RENTAL CHARGES
All rentals are based on the 24-hour clock. So, if the vehicle is collected at 6pm on July 1st for a two week period, it must be returned to the rental location no later than 6pm on July 15th. Late returns will be charged at Alamo’s local tariff.
CHILD SAFETY SEATS
Children up to six years old are required by law to be transported in approved child seats. These must be requested at the time of booking and will be provided by Alamo at a cost of US$8 / CAD$8 per day. A refundable deposit is also required at the time of collection.
DRIVING AREAS
Cars rented in the USA and Canada may be driven anywhere in the United States and Canada. One way rentals between the USA and Canada are restricted to certain locations and are subject to one way fees. Cars rented in Alaska must be returned to Alaska. CDW is void when driving on unpaved roads. Vehicles cannot be driven into Mexico.
ONE WAY RENTALS
Take advantage of our special ‘one way - no drop fee' rentals commencing and terminating at any two locations within Florida or within California. We are also delighted to extend this no drop fee offer to rentals between the following city pairs:
• Denver to/from Phoenix
• Denver to/from Las Vegas
• Denver to/from San Francisco
• Denver to/from San Diego
• Denver to/from Los Angeles
• Phoenix to/from San Diego
• Phoenix to/from Los Angeles
• Phoenix to/from San Francisco
• Phoenix to/from Las Vegas
• Las Vegas to/from San Francisco
• Las Vegas to/from San Diego
• Las Vegas to/from Los Angeles
• Nashville to/from New Orleans
One way rentals of Economy vehicles are not permitted.
PARTIALLY USED RENTALS
We are unable to offer refunds for a car rental that has not been used in its entirety.
GLOBAL POSITIONING SYSTEM
Driving around the USA and Canada has now become even easier! Alamo has introduced the option of pre-booking G.P.S. (Global Positioning System) as part of your car reservation. Satellite navigation is available at most depots and on most car categories. Please ask at time of reservation if you would like us to include the cost of this added benefit in your car rental.
