Clearwater, St Petersburg & Tampa

Ideally situated on Florida’s stunning West Coast, Clearwater offers a seemingly endless supply of entertainment, natural beauty, and outdoor activities both on land and at sea.

Relax and work on that suntan on the stunning white beaches or head into the ocean and enjoy your favourite water sport. Have fun jet skiing, snorkeling, parasailing, diving or spearfishing St Petersburg has it all.

With its world-class theme parks and exciting nightlife, engaging museums and glorious golf, tranquil canoe excursions, wall-to-wall sunshine and some of the Gulf coast’s best shopping and dining, Tampa makes an ideal starting point for a fabulous Florida twin-centre.

Clearwater

The sugar white sand and tranquil crystal clear Gulf waters combined with an average of 361 days of sunshine per year and a temperate, mild climate make for the ideal beachside paradise. Watersports include speed boat rides, parasailing, jet skis, wave runners, scuba diving and snorkeling. Fishing and boating are also options and of course dolphin watching.

On land, you will find an abundance of beautiful golf courses both public and private for players of all skill levels to enjoy.

Clearwater Beach offers a variety of shops on Mandalay Avenue and Gulfview Boulevard, everything from souvenirs and resort clothing, to surfing equipment and keepsakes, and everything else under the sun.

Open-air dining overlooking the water provides the perfect chance to catch the incredible Clearwater sunset while elegant candlelight dinners are the perfect counterpart to casual beachside days. Dining cruises in the Intracoastal and out in the Gulf of Mexico are a wonderful way to explore the gorgeous area. The Gulf of Mexico is home to an abundance of incredible seafood, so it’s no mistake that Clearwater is well known for its fresh daily catches. Of all the Gulf’s bounty, grouper is undoubtedly the hometown favorite.

St Petersburg

There is a choice of fabulous golf courses with spectacular views. Considered one of the area’s best-kept secrets, the Donald Ross-designed Dunedin Golf Club offers a challenging, traditional course at an amazing value.

There’s an abundance of shopping opportunities whether you’re looking for local flair or high-end shopping. The Tyrone Square Mall in St. Pete and Westfield Countryside Mall in Clearwater showcase national brands and great shopping. If you’re looking to get some Florida favorites, head on over to John’s Pass Boardwalk in Madeira Beach. The Central Arts District in St. Pete offers numerous art galleries with great local works of art.

All along the coast, beachfront restaurants offer up fresh-caught fish and seafood and there is a vast choice of multi-ethnic culinary delights. From fine dining to casual fare, there is something for everyone.

Tampa

For fun-loving families, there are water slides and vertical dives (plus all sorts of animal encounters) waiting at Busch Gardens and Adventure Island theme parks; or come face to face with sharks and stingrays at the wonderful Florida Aquarium. As for more grown-up distractions, Ybor City and the SoHo Strip offer excellent dining and nightlife. Tampa is at the heart of Florida’s fledgling gourmet scene, so give your taste buds a treat at one-of-a-kind restaurants, and wash it all down with made-in-Tampa craft beers.

Then when you’re ready to hit the beach, it’s an easy drive to the coastal resorts of Clearwater, Sarasota, Marco Island, and Naples. So make your next beach break a city-and-sea twin centre to guarantee double the fun.
