Day 1

Arrive Seattle

Depart the UK on your chosen scheduled flight to Seattle. Upon arrival transfer to the Roosevelt Seattle, meet your fellow travelling companions at the welcome meeting and dinner this evening.

Day 2

Olympic National Park

Olympic National Park is one of the most unique and diverse parks in North America and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Today you’ll visit the Hoh Rain Forest, an old-growth forest located in the stretch of the Pacific Northwest rainforest. The forest constantly renews itself from fallen trees, moss drips from tall branches and deer seek refuge amongst the dense camouflage. Tonight you’ll stay in the cabins by beautiful Lake Crescent, which provides the ideal location to relax and watch the sunset.

Day 3

Olympic National Park

This morning, you’ll visit the Rialto Beach on the park’s wild Pacific coast. Rocky beaches, giant drift logs, pounding waves and views of small islands called ‘sea stacks’ make up the stunning scenery. Take a hike along the two mile beach trail to Hole-in-the-Wall, home to an array of trees and a number of different creatures, from whales, sea lions and otters offshore to birds circling overhead and starfish lining the rock pools. When the tide is out, you can scramble through the rocky arch for panoramic views of the other side. In the afternoon, take to the calm waters on a kayaking adventure.

Day 4

Port Angeles to Victoria

This morning you make your way to Port Angeles to board the ferry for Victoria in British Columbia, Canada.  Victoria is well-known as an ideal place to spot Orca Whales and you will be setting off on an Orca viewing Zodiac RIB tour designed to search for these magnificent mammals on an exhilarating ride in the open air.

Day 5

MacMillan / Pacific Rim National Park

Make your way around the coastal road before heading inland and up to Cathedral Cove in MacMillan Provincial Park. Here you will find the rare and endangered remnants of an ancient Douglas fir ecosystem. The oldest trees date back roughly 800 years and can grow as tall as 75 metres with a diameter of around nine metres. Later, continue inland until you reach Pacific Rim National Park where you walk the Schooner Cove Trail. The trail meanders through lush rainforests and over streams before arriving at the coast. Tonight you will arrive in Tofino for a two-night stay at the WAY Point Resort Yurts. The Yurts are set up along the beach, just steps from the ocean and provide a unique platform tenting experience.

Day 6

Today, enjoy a scenic boat ride on the waters of the Clayoquot Sound inlets to explore the protected wilderness beaches and inlets which the local bears call home. You might also spot whales and bald eagles from the boat on this exciting excursion. It is common for bears to come down to the beach after hibernation, to feed on shellfish and crustaceans. The boat allows for a close encounter without disturbing or causing the animals any distress. You’ll witness mother bears teaching their young cubs new tricks and watch them mischievously climbing trees and playing on the beach. This evening, enjoy a salmon BBQ on the beach to round off an incredible day.

Day 7

Set off from Nanaimo, Vancouver Island, on a scenic ferry to the mainland across the Salish Sea, admiring small islands and the breath-taking panorama of the city of Vancouver as it comes into view. This cosmopolitan city is a real contrast to the rest of British Columbia. Enjoy a scenic drive through Stanley Park, a 400-hectare green wonderland and stop by Prospect Point, a scenic lookout where you can gaze out at spectacular views of Lions Gate Bridge, North Vancouver and West Vancouver. Your tour with Grand American Adventures ends at 17:00.

Fairmont Hotel Vancouver (Breakfast included)
Day 8
