Dinosaurland is highly recommended as it is the only place in the world where you can view, and even touch, over 1,500 dinosaur bones all in their original resting place.

Dinosaurs are not all the area has to offer. Hiking, biking, boating, swimming, rafting, petroglyphs, museums and so much more make this area loved by those who visit.

Day 6

Rock Springs

109mi / 175km

Leaving the dinosaurs behind, today you cross states to the city of Rock Springs in Wyoming. A diverse city richly steeped in western history and coal mining. Outlaw gangs who roamed the West often passed through Rock Springs or used it as a destination. As a young man, outlaw “Butch” Cassidy worked in Rock Springs as a butcher….acquiring the name “Butch”.

Although you’re only here for one night we highly recommend you make time to visit the City Museum which offers a unique look back at the history of Rock Springs starting with the building itself. You may even choose to enjoy a round of golf at the 27-hole White Mountain Golf Course.

Best Western Outlaw Inn, Rock Springs
Day 7, 8

You have two nights here giving you ample time to explore. We recommend visits to the Old Faithful Geyser, Lower Yellowstone River Falls, Grand Prismatic Spring and Mammoth Hot Springs. West Yellowstone also has a variety of shopping and dining options including family-run restaurants, cafes, and bistros. Perhaps you could try the regional specialities of trout, elk and bison.

Day 11, 12

Garden City

274mi / 441km

Today you will cross the state line back into Utah, with a destination of Garden City. Located at the end of Logan Canyon Scenic Byway and on the shores of Bear Lake State Park, it is the perfect place to spend time accompanied by beautiful scenery. Bear Lake is often called the Caribbean of the Rockies for its intense turquoise blue water. As you catch your first glimpse of the lake, you’ll marvel at its colour and wonder what makes the lake so blue. The unique colour is due to the reflection of the limestone deposits suspended in the lake.

Your next two nights will be spent glamping! At Conestoga Ranch, breathtaking nature and rustic luxury combine to create a wonderful experience. Enjoy the natural world like never before – from the complete comfort of your tent, which offers a cosy bed adorned with linens.
