Rockies To The Red Rocks

Enjoy two days of extraordinary landscapes including vast canyons, inspiring deserts, natural archways and enchanting hoodoos. This journey is filled with highlights best seen by train. This route showcases scenery which is unique to the Southwestern USA. Between Denver and Glenwood Springs you journey alongside the Colorado River and through a series of canyons with steep, rugged rock walls. The route between Glenwood Springs and Moab offers a variety of scenery including mountain vistas, desert cliffs and rock formations.

This route can be taken in both directions. Westbound, it includes two breakfasts and one lunch. Eastbound, it includes one breakfast, one lunch and one dinner. Only SilverLeaf carriages travel along this US route, aboard which you will take in views from oversized glass-dome windows from the comfort of a spacious, reclining seat. The onboard culinary experience features cuisine and ingredients local to the Southwestern US, which will be accompanied by a beverage service and served at your seat so you don’t miss one minute of the spectacular scenery.

Two Day Itinerary

DAY 1 – DENVER TO GLENWOOD SPRINGS

Depart Denver and travel onboard Rocky Mountaineer. Cross the Continental Divide as you take in the spectacular views of rugged canyons and the Colorado River before arriving at the resort town of Glenwood Springs. Tonight you disembark the train and overnight in Glenwood Springs (hotel allocated by Rocky Mountaineer).

DAY 2 – GLENWOOD SPRINGS TO MOAN

This morning, depart Glenwood Springs back onboard the Rocky Mountaineer. You’ll cross the Colorado-Utah border with stunning mountain views shining through the windows. Red sandstone landscapes emerge as you approach Moab, the gateway to Arches and Canyonlands National Parks. Your journey ends upon arrival in Moab.
