Texas Gulf Coast

Corpus Christi is located in the South Texas Gulf Coast offering popular tourist attractions, a variety of hotels, cultural venues, shopping and dining options and best of all— South Texas hospitality. See the beautiful sunsets and picturesque landscape as you drive over the Harbor Bridge to North Beach and explore two of the most popular attractions (Texas State Aquarium and the USS Lexington). Drive along Shoreline Blvd. and Ocean Drive and see the beauty of the Corpus Christi Bay. There are many parks along the way for you to stop and take pictures.

Galveston Island, Texas’s premier cruise port is a historic beach town located on the Gulf of Mexico just 50 miles from Houston. A great holiday destination offering 32 miles of beaches and a variety of attractions. Spend the day at the beach relaxing or partaking in many of the water activities. If you decide to visit East Beach, be ready for the parties and concerts with live bands, bikini contests etc.

Things to do in Corpus Christi

Head to the Padre Island National Seashore and do a little bird spotting with over 350 species and where you truly connect with nature.

Visit the Texas Surf Museum – Dedicated to the unique culture and history of Texas surfing, the Texas Surf Museum encourages a healthy lifestyle of surfing and related board sports while promoting ways to protect and preserve the beaches, bays and waterways of the Texas Gulf Coast.

Spend the day at Cole Park – The perfect spot for the entire family, this 43-acre park located along Corpus Christi Bay includes a play area, skatepark, lighted fishing pier, BBQ grills and an open amphitheatre featuring live music every Thursday and an outdoor family movie every Friday throughout the summer.

Corpus Christi is always buzzing with boutiques, restaurants, and bars with live music and if you are there on a Wednesday evening don’t forget to visit the Farmers Market where you will enjoy fresh local produce along with Corpus Christi food trucks, live music and a beautiful view. 

Dining in Corpus Christi is a delight. You will find an array of ethnic restaurants, but don’t forget to taste the delicious seafood dishes with those tangy Tex-Mex sauces or a real Texas BBQ.

Things to do in Galveston

Galveston offers a wealth of cultural and historic points of interest from museums and art galleries to historic homes and mansions. Armchair pilots will love the Lone Star Flight Museum and those with more of a nautical interest can check out the Texas Seaport Museum.

Families will enjoy the many child-friendly attractions, including Moody Gardens, with its replica of a tropical rain forest, its glass pyramids and one of the largest aquariums in Texas. Take a harbour boat tour or a colonial paddlewheel tour on Galveston Bay. Meander and shop along the historic downtown Strand district or explore Pier 21.

Centuries of mixing unique ingredients and ethnic influences have made Galveston’s cuisine truly special. Each dish shares a piece of the island’s past. And today, visitors seeking distinct, only-in-Texas meals keep pushing the island’s restaurants to ever more creative ends, from craft beer to one-of-a-kind desserts.

Dining opportunities are vast in Galveston. First, you have to decide if you want a city skyline view or a Gulf view, followed by the choice of ethnic, seafood or  Cajun. But the island’s restaurant and beverage scene are also surging with an array of new foodie delights, from steak houses and taco stands to coffee bars and daiquiri shacks, giving visitors plenty of mouthwatering options for breakfast, lunch and dinner.  After dinner enjoy a nightcap in one of the many nightclubs or Catch a few sets of live music and top off the evening with a waterfront stroll down the Seawall.
