Day 1

Arrive Seattle

Depart the UK on your chosen scheduled flight to Seattle, Washington. Upon arrival, transfer independently to the Sheraton Grand Seattle. The evening is yours to explore at your own leisure.

Day 2

Seattle

This morning you may choose to relax and acclimatize or perhaps a spot of sightseeing in the Emerald City before you meet your travel director and fellow guests where you will enjoy a welcome reception in the evening.

Day 3

Seattle

This morning enjoy an orientation of Seattle and get your ‘fix’ on a guided tour of the Starbucks Reserve Roastery including a Coffee seminar, Dive into Culture with a brewing demonstration along with a step by step coffee tasting. Head on towards Pike Place Market, where the fish fly low from one fishmonger’s hands to the next. Explore on your own to become a market insider experiencing the sights, sounds, and flavors of this historic 100+ year old landmark. This afternoon, enjoy your choice of sightseeing. Choose between a self-guided visit to the famous Seattle Space Needle or the beautiful Chihuly Garden and Glass Exhibit.

Day 4

Bainbridge Island and Port Angeles

Today, depart from Seattle and take a ferry across Puget Sound to Bainbridge Island. This charming yet vibrant island community will make you feel as if you’ve entered a different world. From there, drive to Port Townsend, a historic coastal town known for its storied buildings and lively dining scene. Next, immerse yourself in the local culture at Jardin du Soleil, a lavender farm that will captivate you with its delightful fragrances. Partner with a lavender farmer to learn the processes of distilling and harvesting lavender, and create your lavender essential oil to take home. With your custom blend and the serenity of the lavender fields, continue to Port Angeles for a delightful dinner at the Red Lion Hotel Port Angeles Harbor.

Day 5

Olympic National Park

Today, venture west to the untamed beauty of the Olympic Peninsula. In this diverse landscape, surrounded by the Olympic Mountains, ocean, strait, and canals, you will explore the verdant Olympic National Park. As a natural UNESCO World Heritage Site and International Biosphere Reserve, the park features cascading waterfalls beneath a canopy of old-growth trees, the stunning Lake Crescent, and the Hoh Rain Forest, where you can stroll through the mystical “Hall of Mosses” and visit the rugged beaches of the Western Olympic Peninsula. After a morning immersed in nature, continue your journey into Oregon, arriving in the port city of Astoria.


Day 6

Astoria and Newport

Discover more of Astoria, the oldest American settlement west of the Rocky Mountains, by riding the restored Astoria Riverfront Trolley. Next, visit the towering Astoria Column, a monument dedicated by the Great Northern Railway in 1926, and learn about the experiences of the region’s earliest inhabitants. Continue your historical journey with a docent-led tour of the Columbia River Maritime Museum, which recounts the stories of the legendary Columbia River Bar, one of the most perilous passages in the world. Finally, stop in the coastal town of Newport, where expansive sandy beaches invite you to pause and enjoy the scenery.

Day 7

Portland

You will depart Newport today to head towards Portland where your first stop will be at the Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum. After, you’ll take a trip to Oregon’s wine country and Connect With Locals over an exclusive Be My Guest gourmet lunch featuring the area’s signature Pinot Noir in the Willamette Valley. Next, you’ll head to Portland where you have an orientation tour of the city before joining a Local Specialist for a food walking tour that expertly showcases the unique and quirky city through delicious creative bites as you delve into the history and importance of the Pearl District. Formerly occupied by warehouses, this revamped district of the city is now a vibrant centre for art galleries and stylish bars.

Day 8

Columbia River Gorge

This morning, take a day trip outside of the city to soak up views of these magnificent and powerful Multnomah Falls before reaching Hood River. Spend the day on a sightseeing trip to the Columbia River Gorge. Nothing will prepare you for the incredible scenic beauty that will unfold along this journey as you follow the historic Columbia River Highway. Waterfalls cascade from basalt cliffs lining the road. You’ll have some free time in Hood River for lunch and a stop along the famed “Fruit Loop” which sells farm produce. You then continue to Timberline Lodge, located on the slopes of Mt. Hood (weather permitting). Later enjoy a Farewell Dinner back in Portland with your travel colleagues.

Day 9

Journey Home

Say goodbye to Portland as you transfer independently to the airport for your flight back to the UK. Alternatively, you may choose to extend your stay in Portland and explore more that Oregon has to offer.
