Touch The Earth Jeep Tour From Sedona

  • 2 Hours & 30 Minutes
  • All year round

The Touch the Earth Tour is an educational journey into the mystical beliefs and physical characteristics of vortices—meditative sites found around the world that are believed to offer heightened energy for physical, mental or spiritual well-being. Learn local vortex lingo: upflow, info, combination, masculine, feminine, electric, magnetic and more. Your journey starts at Pink Jeep Plaza, where you’ll board a custom-built open-air jeep. Your local, adventure tour guide will take you to one of two stops: Airport Mesa or Mystic Vista. You’ll travel to spectacular viewpoints while learning about Sedona’s world-famous vortex sites. This tour is mostly on paved roads with one-to-three stops, and some walking at each stop.

Airport Mesa is the closest vortex to the centre of Sedona, with twisted juniper trees and panoramic views of the city and surrounding red rocks. Ask your guide about the nearby, steep trail that will take you to the knoll at the top of the vortex itself. This is a popular hike for sunrise or sunset. Winding through West Sedona to Mystic Vista, you’ll travel through Boynton Canyon – the spiritual home of the Yavapai-Apache. This area is believed to be the creation site of the human race by some Native cultures.

Mystic Vista is a butte with 360-degree views across the lush, green Verde Valley. Legend has it that this has been a sacred ceremonial site for 2,000 years. From here, you can see Cockscomb, Doe Mesa, Bear Mountain, Boynton Canyon, Thunder Mountain, Courthouse Butte, Bell Rock and Cathedral Rock. Time permitting, your tour will wind along Red Rock Loop Road to Lover’s Knoll a high point popular for meditation, weddings and spectacular photography during sunset or a full moon. From here, you’ll look out towards Cathedral Rock, one of the most photographed landmarks in Arizona and an up-flow vortex of soaring heights.

There are only a few places in the world that can claim to be truly connected to the earth’s energy. But once you understand the science behind natural vortex areas, you’ll go home feeling peaceful, revitalised and ready to discover one in your own backyard.
