Closed due to fire damage

We have received notification from Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge that there is currently no set date for when the hotel will resume receiving guests. The property is undergoing renovations due to fire damage, and the timeline for reopening is still uncertain.

“Following the devastating wildfires that impacted Jasper and the surrounding areas on July 24, 2024, recent announcements from Parks Canada and the Municipality of Jasper have indicated that re-entry for local residents might be possible as early as August 16, 2024. The hotel is encouraged as this is a critical milestone as they take steps toward welcoming both residents and visitors back to Jasper. The hotel's primary focus remains the safety of their team as they do their due diligence to thoroughly assess the impact of the fires across their 700-acre resort, and the requirements and timelines for a safe reopening for the team and guests. The hotel is at the early stages of this process, ensuring the proper infrastructure is in place to safely occupy the resort, such as utilities and essential services.

The hotel also confirms that many of the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge structures significant to their 100-year history have been spared from the active wildfire, including landmarks such as the Main Lodge, Outlook Cabin, Point Cabin, and Golf Clubhouse. Damage was sustained to two guest cabins, some operational facilities, and a portion of their employee housing, with a significant impact on their colleagues.

The hotel is actively working toward staff return, eager to have their team back at the resort, and excited to start welcoming many of the guests back to the hotel, as soon as they are safely able to do so. As they continue to navigate this challenging period, they remain committed to the support of Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge family and the local community, and are aligned with Parks Canada and the municipality as they manage the re-entry process.”
