Centrally located in the heart of San Francisco, this family-owned and friendly hotel is excellently situated amidst the shopping and entertainment of Union Square. A cable car stop nearby allows for a quick and scenic journey to bustling Fisherman’s Wharf.

All guestrooms and suites at the Handlery are tastefully furnished. The historic section houses 284 rooms, each features a flat screen television, mini-refrigerator and complimentary wireless internet. Upgrading to the premier section of the hotel offers a more spacious room and a number of additional benefits including complimentary bottled water, bathrobes and slippers and many of these accommodations feature balconies affording views of either the outdoor pool or the city.

Exterior Maintenance

Due to a recent San Francisco ordinance, Handlery Union Square are having to perform maintenance on the building’s Geary Street façade starting mid-November 2023. The estimated completion date for this project is April 2024. The working hours will be from 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. During this time, there will be scaffolding erected. To avoid any disruptions to guests, the rooms on this side will be placed off-sale.
