Napa Valley Wine Train

It might seem cliché to say that the Napa Valley Wine Train is more than the sum of its parts, but it is. Part distinctive Napa Valley fine dining restaurant. Part museum, it’s made up of exquisitely and faithfully restored vintage early 20th century Pullman cars. Part journey, to some of California’s most celebrated wineries.

With its Honduran mahogany paneling, brass accents, etched glass partitions, and plush armchairs, the Wine Train also evokes the elegant glory days of luxury train travel of the early 1900s. You get to sit back, relax, and savor every delicious bite, every bit of extraordinary scenery, every taste and tour.

The sightseeing experience

Board the Napa Valley Wine Train and sail through the picture-postcard setting of Northern California’s Napa Valley region. This two hour excursion, starting and terminating at Napa Valley Station, follows the historic train line built in 1847 by Samuel Brannan. The journey takes you through famous wine valleys to Rutherford, then loops back to Napa Valley.

The vintage carriages, built between 1915 and 1952, have been lavishly restored to their original decor of a bygone era to enhance the experience. Napa Valley Wine Train has a choice of two excursion options, Gourmet Express or Vista Dome, for either lunch or dinner.

Guests choosing Gourmet Express travel in the Pullman Lounge Car, enjoy picture windows, rich polished woods and custom designed fabrics.

The epitome of elegance, those choosing the Vista Dome are treated to perfect views of the manicured vineyards and unique California architecture through the elevated dome windows. Passengers dine at their lavishly appointed tables with fine velveteen chairs, reminiscent of the early 1920’s.
