Day 2

Peggy's Cove & Lunenburg

Your journey begins with a visit to Peggy’s Cove, a picturesque Nova Scotia fishing town that’s one of the most-photographed spots in North America. Continue along the rugged Atlantic coast to the fishing village of Lunenburg. Named a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its well-preserved, colourful 19th century timber-built houses, you have a choice of activities whilst visiting the town. After lunch, you have a choice of sightseeing in Lunenberg. See the village’s 18th and 19th century timber-built houses on a walking tour, or visit the Fisheries Museum of the Atlantic, housed in historic waterfront buildings and gain insights into the Maritime Provinces’ seafaring heritage. Return to Halifax this evening.

Day 3

Halifax and the Citadel

Spend the day your way today, exploring the sights on your own or joining us on a choice of included activities that include a guided city tour of Halifax, rich in museums and culture, or a visit to Halifax Public Gardens with an expert guide who shares insights on the Victorian heritage Fundy. The town of Digby has long enjoyed its reputation as Canada’s Scallop Capital.

Day 4

Prince Edward Island

Today starts with a ferry ride from Nova Scotia across to Prince Edward Island, the smallest of the Atlantic Provinces. Once settled in Old Charlottetown enjoy an afternoon walking tour, before relaxing in your hotel, just steps from Old Charlottetown’s boardwalk and Peake’s Wharf, nestled between two rivers in a quiet protected harbour. The evening is free to spend as you please. You may choose to visit Founders Hall, where the history of Canada’s origins is chronicled.

Day 5

Prince Edward Island National Park & Green Gables

Spend the morning as you please before driving through the extraordinary landscapes of Prince Edward Island National Park. Visit Green Gables House, the farmhouse immortalised by famed author Lucy Maud Montgomery in her tales of the red-headed orphan, Anne of Green Gables, before an opportunity to savor a traditional lobster dinner – a must-have experience in the Maritimes.

Day 6

Digby

Cross the magnificent Confederation Bridge to the province of New Brunswick and make the short journey back to Nova Scotia. Enjoy some time at Port-Royal National Historic Site and the Habitation. One of the earliest settlements in North America, reconstructed early 17th century buildings come to life through costumed interpreters and demonstrations.

Day 7

Whale Watching

It is a real highlight today, as you journey to wildlife-rich Digby Neck for a whale watching excursion on the Bay of Fundy. Keep an eye out for finback, minke and humpback whales and lots of seals, drawn to the bay by its abundant plankton.The afternoon is free for you to explore some of the surrounding area or enjoy one of the activities available at your beautiful resort, before joining your new friends for a farewell dinner.

Day 8

Journey Home

There’s a final stop at Grande-Pre National Historic Site en route back to Halifax Airport, where you check-in for your return flight to the UK.
