Bute Inlet Grizzly Bear Tour ( 7-8 hours – August to October)

Journey to the Orford River Valley aboard a comfortable, high-speed covered vessel where you will be taken on to the traditional territory of the Homalco First Nation via bus to a series of viewing platforms.  The Orford River offers some of the best Grizzly Bear viewings on the West Coast and they can guarantee that this tour will be the experience of a lifetime. Take time travelling to the Orford, prioritising time to stop to view whales and wildlife along the way.

On this tour you will enjoy:

  • Extra time allotted on the boat ride to the Orford specifically to view marine wildlife
  • Interpretation by your certified Naturalist and Captain
  • Homalco First Nation Bear Guide while on land
  • 3 hours on land in the beautiful Bute Inlet
  • The opportunity to view Grizzly Bears try and catch and feed on spawning salmon from a series of covered, raised platforms
  • Possible viewings from as close as 10 metres
  • A leisurely lunch of freshly made wraps, snacks of homemade baked goods and granola bars, and beverages such as coffee, hot chocolate, tea, and water

Toba Inlet Grizzly Bear Tour (9 – 10 hours – August to October)

Join this tour and cruise along the Discovery passage to Toba Inlet, where you will disembark the vessel and spend 3 hours on land viewing Grizzlies along the river with the Klahoose First Nation. On land, you will be guided between various viewing platforms watching Grizzlies search for salmon.

Spring Bear and Waterfall Tour (6 -7 hours April to June)

Join a small group on this Spring Discovery Tour as you travel to mainland inlets in a covered vessel to see several waterfalls in all of their glory. As you cruise the shorelines, you will keep your eyes peeled for different types of wildlife as they return and awaken from the long winter. Witness sea lions, sea birds, and Orca! View the first Humpback Whales of the season as they make their way back to the northern waters! Watch bears forage along the shore for crabs, mussels, oysters, and more!

On this tour you will enjoy:

  • Travelling to see a variety of nature and wildlife in a well-maintained, 12-passenger vessel
