Newport Beach, Newport Coast & Huntington Beach

Newport Beach

Located on the Californian coast of Orange County, Newport Beach is just 14 miles from Anaheim, home of Disneyland and 50 miles south of Los Angeles.  Nestled between Los Angeles County in the north and San Diego County in the south, the City of Newport boasts an ideal location for exploring the California Coast. This area is well known for its pristine residential areas, cosmopolitan shopping and dining opportunities and the huge number of boats docked in Newport Bay.

Often attracting a younger crowd, rollerblading the piers and surfing the waves, nevertheless anyone young at heart will love this beach playground. Outdoor water activities surpass themselves, and with nine miles of sandy beach you can always find a quiet spot to simply enjoy the Californian sunshine. If that’s not to your taste, try the local challenging golf courses or visit Newport’s museums and art galleries. You will be spoilt for choice, with over 300 restaurants to select from. From fine to casual dining, there is an obvious emphasis on locally caught seafood as well as American classics.

Newport Coast

Newport Coast is an affluent community south of Newport Beach. Perched high above the Pacific Ocean on the Newport Coast, stands Pelican Hills, one of the country’s preeminent golf destinations. Upper Newport Bay, bordering Newport Back Bay, the Nature Preserve provides vistas of the coastal wetlands, which are reminiscent of the historic landscape of much of Alta California.

Newport Harbour is one of the finest and most scenic small boat harbours. It winds its way back to Newport Dunes, a favorite gathering place for water-oriented family fun. A calm water beach is great for sunbathing and swimming with the kids. Pop over to Balboa Island by car, on foot or by ferry. Marine Avenue is home to chic coastal shops featuring unique nautical designs, stylish beach fashions, art and jewelry, and quaint Newport Beach bistros serving up a variety of dishes bursting with flavor. Enjoy world-class shopping less than ten minutes away at Fashion Island and South Coast Plaza or head towards Laguna Beach with its upscale shops and art galleries.

Huntington Beach

Huntington Beach dominates the California beach scene with 10 miles of uninterrupted beaches. The city features the most consistent waves on the West Coast, an attribute that helped the city receive the nickname, Surf City USA.

The beach resorts of Greater Los Angeles have recently been under the spotlight in a whole host of US films and television programs, providing great exposure of their boutique shopping, chic dining and of course superb beaches. If you want to wake each morning to the sound of the surf and enjoy days in a seaside atmosphere, yet still have easy access to Los Angeles’ attractions, one of California’s beaches is an ideal choice.

The Mediterranean-like climate offers warm temperatures and very little rainfall, providing the perfect weather conditions to enjoy all of the outdoor activities on offer, here at Huntington Beach. Take a leisurely stroll in the public parks, discover the area by horse riding along the many equestrian trails, wander along the waterfront at the marina or explore the wildlife preserve. If you are feeling more active, try biking, skating, or jogging along the 8-mile oceanfront trail. Each year, Huntington Beach attracts visitors, from every coastal region, for the U.S. Open of Surfing and the AVP Pro Beach Volleyball amongst other sporting events.
