Iconic Scottsdale

Scottsdale’s story begins in Old Town, where you’ll find cultural influences of the area’s first Native American residents, as well as the cowboys, ranchers, and artists who settled here in the late 1800s. Throughout Old Town, contemporary museums, fine art galleries and chef-driven restaurants happily coexist with historic landmarks that offer you a glimpse into Scottsdale’s colourful past.

Scottsdale sits in the heart of the Sonoran Desert, the most verdant and biologically diverse desert in North America. The mountains, rivers, and lush expanses of cacti-studded landscapes provide the perfect setting for outdoor adventures of any kind. Why not take a guided tour? Taking you away from the beaten path into pristine valleys and canyons.

You may choose to enjoy a taste of the Old West by horseback on a morning trail ride through the McDowell Mountain foothills. If you prefer to hike or bike Scottsdale is also your paradise – with a bountiful network of well-maintained trails, including those at Scottsdale McDowell Sonoran Preserve, Pinnacle Peak Park, and Camelback Mountain.

Old Town Spotlight

Old Town Scottsdale is the energetic heart of the city. In a little more than one square mile, you can explore nine easily walkable districts filled with art galleries, shops, restaurants, museums and nightclubs.

The largest shopping destination in the Southwest, Fashion Square is home to more than 250 premium retailers, a Harkins luxury cinema and multiple restaurants.

Paolo Soleri’s massive Soleri Bridge anchors this district, which also houses upscale retailers, bistros and several public art installations.

This long-time local favorite boasts dozens of unique shops, award-winning restaurants and the famous Bob Parks Horse Fountain.

The laidback daytime energy of this district explodes after dark, with celebrity deejays, live bands and master mixologists showing off their talents at upscale nightclubs and bars.

Old Town continued

Fine art galleries, wine-tasting rooms, Scottsdale’s Museum of the West and the Thursday night ArtWalk all call this district home.

This historic corner of Old Town is fun and funky, with a decidedly Old West Flair. Western wear boutiques, Native American jewelry and historic sites are a few of the treasures you’ll find here.

This mixed-use district houses restaurants, bars and numerous hair salons, which may come in handy if you’re planning a night on the town.

The park’s 21 acres of lush lawns, public art and bubbling fountains also house the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art.

This retail center on the south side of the Arizona Canal offers upscale retailers and several highly popular restaurants.
